Mignon - Form fleece experiments
"We treat serious matter in a playful way" (Droog). Mignon are a series of objects and products that basically deal with the playful handling of reversible joining.  Formfleece is normally used to make seat shells. By experimenting with the material form fleece a new technique was discovered. With this method it is now possible to form hardened and flexible areas. The material is clamped by simple insertion into slotted pieces of wood. The wood and molded fabric are connected to each other and also separable again without any other tools. The appearance of the objects results from the function and the separability of them. This allows the materials to be exchanged and recycled in cycles. This project was developed in collaboration with Lenn Gerlach.
